Oxycodone, Hydrcodone, Pain - The Takeover By The Govt (Top voted first)
UpdatedALERT - ALERT!!! People! OPEN UP YOUR EYES for gods sake. The Hippocrittical Beuraucrats, Narrowminded Law enforcement, and mis-informed public are systematically taking away our right to be prescribed the medications we so desperately need to maintain some sort of normal life. I have had 14 major surgeries (hip replacement, pelvic reconstrution, calcaneous fracture repair etc.); yet my doctor has cut my dosage way back after threats from the Dept. of Health, DEA etc. They now want all our meds changed altogether. This is ridiculous. Yet, if we continue to do nothing it won't be long before all we can have is0 an asprin. This is a real threat. It is not going away. It will only get worse. Please do not be afraid to speak up forbv each and everyone of your rights to be treated for pain with the FDA approved opiod medication that works the best for you at the dosage that works the best for you. I hope some folks read this post and reply and begin to join me in fighting this draconian effort to restrict our rights to "LIFE, LIBERTY AND THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS".

It actually has nothing to do with trying to restrict your rights. The restrictions on controlled substances have to do with trying to prevent abuse, theft and diversion.
I am sorry that you are suffering, but in reality, in the U.S. you only have the legal right to life sustaining treatments, if your life is in danger. You are, unfortunately, not actually guaranteed any specific quality of life.
And no doctor is under obligation to provide you with any treatment, unless you are in life threatening danger. They are not obligated to write prescriptions for pain medications, or anything else. Your doctor can stop prescribing them to you, at any time. They can also drop you as a patient, at any time, if they so choose.

I went to the Doctors yesterday and was I surprised. When asked to take a U/A, i felt like a criminal. I receive 5. mgs. twice a day and have for about 5 years. I have never abused them, but i have taken 3 sometimes in one day if the pain is severe. I know drug use is out of control, but please i am sure there are other ways to control drug abuse. I think this is totally crazy, and if a person has true pain, do u really think advil is going to work? All I can say is there has to be a better way.
Re: Josey (# 2)
I couldn't agree more, this crap has gotten out of control and only hurting those who are already suffering. What is this world coming to? The healthcare is of very poor quality and doctors took an oath to help patients, yet they turn their backs to their patients' pain and suffering. DO ATTORNEYS SUE FOR THAT (PAIN AND SUFFERING)?
This started a long time ago. Now the Government has placed law enforcement in charge of pharmaceuticals as well as elicit drugs. DEA has our doctors afraid to prescribe narcotics for pain. The media has convinced most of the public that it is fueling the opioid crisis in america.Typically the mighty dollar is a huge factor !.Now that the CDC has laid out prescribing limits,it's created fear down the line from our doctors to our pharmacist. That leaves chronic pain patience in the middle. Or as the DEA describes us as victims of the so called epidemic. We must communicate with our congress men any way we can so they don't forget there is another side to all of this !
Re: Verwon (# 1)
Verwon ,we do have rights to doctor patient privacy. Those rights are being abused in violation of our HIPA rights. We should not be in fear and our doctors should not be intimidated . It's a violation of everyone's rights ! It also opens up the universal question of just who is our government serving or answering to ! Do we live in a democracy or not !!
Re: Verwon (# 1)
CDC reports prescription painkillers no longer the driving force in opioid epidemic.
