Nursing Adderall

I am a nursing student who has struggled with ADD/ADHD since childhood. I am now 36 years old and in an intensive nursing program. Frankly, my symptoms are manifesting in class, they are quite embarrassing and make me self concious, besides not being able to concentrate in a class/clinicals from 7am-4pm every day.
I recently was advised by my psychiatrist to go back on Adderall to manage my symptoms. I am in the process of obtaining a volunteer position at a local hospital which would be an amazing opportunity. I am so scared that I will not pass the drug screen.
I know I can provide a valid Rx from my physician explaining I could possibly test positive for medications that I am legally being treated with for a medical condition.
I am worried they will recend the offer even if they know I am responsibly taking medication percribed by a doctor. May be not in so many words, but would find another reason. I would love to pursue a paid nursing position after I gradute. Will they even consider me as a canidate if they know I am on this medication?

I really think the answer to this may vary from location to location, depending on various state and local ordinances and there may also be differing facility policies.

Thus, the best thing I can suggest is talking to a counselor at your school and see if they can help you find the answers to these questions, they should know the prevailing policies.
