Nucynta Not Working
UpdatedMy doctor put me on nucynta er 150 mg x2 daily for chronic pain and I'm not getting any pain relief. Does it take time to work? I've been on it for 3 weeks.

Hello, Kurtfen! How are you?
No, it is an opiate and should have some effect within about 15 to 20 minutes of taking it. However, it could be that it's just not the right medication to help you.
The FDA classifies it as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
Have you informed your doctor of the issue? You may need to try a different medication.
