I was prescribed this today instead of metoprolol. I know what metorprolol does. I am not going to take this new stuff after reading the warnings. In fact, I am on the wheat free program for the rest of my life and intend to manage all B/P issues by losing weight and living gluten free. Check out "Wheat Belly," written by a cardiologist. One warning I have to give you, do not stop blood pressure medications like this cold turkey. Doing so could result in a rebound effect that could cause dangerously elevated heart rate and blood pressure. It is best to taper them slowly under the supervision of your doctor.
And as to the "Wheat Belly" book, while many will debate it, it does make sense, because we didn't originally have wheat and refined grains in our diets. Ancient man was more a paleo eater, so you may also want to look into the paleo diet, many people are getting great results with it, as well.
