Nostrilla - What Happened To It? (Page 4)

Updated

All of a sudden Nostrilla has disappeared from the shelf of my CVS (which is the only place locally that I was ever able to find it). Online sites have is listed as out of stock. Was it discontinued, recalled, or what?

I've found Walgreens the only reliable supply.

I can't find any at Walgreens at all. They don't have it online either.

Finally found some Nostrilla at a new flagship Walgreen's store in Chicago. Nothing at other downtown Walgreen's or CVS stores for a while now. But here's news: the pharmacist told me it's Nostrilla's delivery system that makes if so effective. So we're not crazy when we say that other products with identical ingredients don't work.

I check from time to time, and you are correct Topcat!! It is back on drugstore.com and also CVS online. I have a good supply that will last me for a while, but I am very happy to know it is back in the market place and available!!!!

NOSTRILLA = LIFE SUPPORT

Before the recall, when I used to buy Nostrilla a lot; this product kept be breathing especially since I can't afford to have surgery to have my nose fixed (causing me breathing problems) thereby allowing me to breathe properly, therefore I depend on Nostrilla from time to time. After the recall, all the Nostrilla disappeared and I tried other nasal decongestant products and they worked for a while, but definitely not as good or as well as Nostrilla does. Let's just say, when my nose stops working, I can't really breathe 100% or as easily, its more like 0.01% and I'll have to make a choice between eating solid food or drinking liquids or breathing. I can't do it all easily since my nasal passage is completely blocked due to high volumes of mucus and such and due to the rebound effect of Nostrilla. Yes, the product has its side effects, but its my last resort for the time being and I'm glad its back on the shelves at CVS once more. Though its a lot cheaper online than at CVS!

Nostrilla's ingredients have been changed. I bought a new bottle recently, used it, and experienced burning, sore throat and a whole lot of mucus. The burning lasted for a full 15 minutes. I no longer can use this product. I contacted the company to ask if they have the old product with the old formula available, and they replied - no. The new ingredient is chlorhexadine. This is an antiseptic and that has to be where the burning sensation is coming from. I used this product for years and years, and when they had the recall, I was able to order from the company itself, so that is who I wrote to this time. Why would they change their formula? It was the best, now, for me at least, it is unusable.

Damn it. The same happened to me. I've been using Nostrilla for the past 6 years and nothing else (but European Olynth) works for me. But recently I got Nostrilla, and realized it no longer works as it used to. It burns my nose for 30 min, but real bad. And then I am back at square one. Wtf?

I have used many diff brands over the years, Afrin was the best....until I tried Nostrilla. I have been using it for at least 10 years now. However, the last batch I ordered...(I order online at least 6 at a time as I and my hubby use it) burns and stings really bad...Stopped and purchased a new bottle at local CVS and it burns really bad also. I think they must have changed the formula in the last 3 months. HATING IT!!

Insight Pharmaceuticals has recently changed the Nostrilla formula they have been using for years. They have added a preservative to it. The problem is, it makes many people's noses swell and burn for about 20-30 minutes and doesn't work as well. This Petition is to see is we can make our voices heard and help bring back a product many of us have used and loved for years. a petition link is below.

I have the same problem.
I can sleep only with CPAP breathing machine. Without old Nostrilla I can't sleep normally. I also hate these pharmaceuts!

I knew something was up.... my husband bought a couple of new bottles and I have opened them both. We have been using this product for over 20 years as it is the only thing that works on a stuffy nose. Both of these bottles caused my nose and throat to burn terribly for at least 30 minutes. My husband didn't believe me until our 34 year old son said the same thing last night. This is crazy, did they not test the product? With so many people having the same symptoms it is obviously a problem.

I've had this same problem with the burning and I thought maybe my nose was just really irritated due to chronic allergies. I had a couple of bottles around the house, one burned and one didn't. At that point I knew something had changed. I'm very upset as I've been using this product for seven years. Can't they find a preservative that doesn't burn so much? It's like the New Coke back in the '80s--a really terrible idea!

I have used Nostrilla for many years. In September I got a sinus infection and bought a new bottle of Nostrilla. It burned like crazy. I went back and bought another bottle and the same thing. I called them to complain. They were reluctant to give any information but after repeated questions the lady finally told me that the FDA made them put a preservative in the formula. Since then, I can not taste anything or smell anything. Has any one else had this problem?? I have since started seeing a ENT specialist. He has not told me why I can not taste or smell anything. I can sense/taste sweets, sours, peppers, and salty foods just no actual flavors. I would like to know if anyone else has had this issue.

Likewise, I have experienced identical issues having been a long time user. Something drastically changed with Nostrilla. I wondered if they made major chemical changes to their product. I cannot smell or tast anything. My sinuses have been flowing for 3 months and I am using a box of Klenex a say. My doc said today to throw the Nostilla away. He said I will go through 2 weeks of hell while my sinuses recover.

I've used Nostrilla for over 10 years. Just a squirt a couple of times a day to breathe better, never carried a tissue - never had to blow my nose. In September I thought I was suffering from ragwort pollen. I squirted all day to try to get relief but was overflowing with mucus, congestion, blocked nasal passages, but I attributed the condition to allergies - never knowing it was the Nostrilla until today reading your messages. Went to ENT in November - currently using Nasonex, along with Rite-Aid brand or Afrin nosespray. I don't believe my sinuses will ever be the same.

OMG, I'm so glad to know that I am NOT alone in purchasing different batches of the nasal spray. It has caused severe burning and stinging and I have had to take them back several times to the store! it has gotten to the point where I have had to go to the different stores looking for certain Nostrilla sprays with the lot number that does not sting. whatever they have done recently they need to go back because there are a lot of dissatisfied customers in a lot of temporary pain.
