Rather than actually relieving your allergies, you might just be experiencing the side effect of the opiate drying the mucosa. They are actually very well known to do that and without that extra moisture causing irritation, it would also make sense that your sneezing would stop.
The FDA classifies this as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
So, it isn't that it would really be alleviating your allergies, it's just preventing such a severe reaction to the allergens.
