Norco 7.5/325... 2 Every 6-8 Hours

I am a 38yo female. 120lbs. I just had my tonsils out today and am in some pain but not a lot... My Dr prescribed 2 Norco 7.5/325 every 6 to 8 hours for pain. I have found that 6 hours is a pretty long time for me... I even have a hard time with 4 hours.... And 2 pills are WAY too much... I'm good with one really, could probably cut that in half as it is... I'm wondering if I can take .5 to 1 every 3 hours instead of 2 every 6 hours?

While this medication may work for severe pain, there is some amount of soreness that nothing is really going to relieve for awhile. I had mine out, just before my 21st birthday, so I know how miserable it can be.

As to the medication, you can safely cut it in half, but I'd not recommend not changing the dosing schedule, without asking your doctor, or surgeon.

The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation.

How are you feeling? Has there been any change?

I takes to my Dr and yes 1 every 3 hrs was fine... And it worked great! I'm almost 3 weeks in now and I'm FINALLY able to get back to work and have stopped all pain medications without problems.
