Norco 539 Vs Watson 853

Updated

Hello - I got my prescription refilled for Norco 539's, but I have always had the 853's with Watson on them. Some key differencws are the new ones are very chalky and can be broken easily while the 853's are much harder and break with a snap not a crumble. Also it's easy to scratch the norco 539 off of the face. Please let me know if anyone one has any experience with these and if they could be bad? Thanks

How soft and crumbly a pill is depends on the inactive ingredients that the manufacturer has chosen to use. The FDA has a list of inactives which are classified under: generally considered as safe, and manufacturers can use whichever they wish from that list. These are ingredients that are considered safe for human consumption and to not have an effect on the efficacy of the given medication, thus a way a tablet crumbles, or breaks is irrelevant to its efficacy.

The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and constipation.

Is there anything else I can help with?

Thanks for the feedback Verwon. Another question for everyone, I've noticed a very drowsy feeling with these new ones and have not felt any euphoria or pick me up as compared to the Watson v 853's. Does anyone know if they have removed or blocked the certain chemical compound that produces that pick me up feeling to fight against abuse and over dependency?

Has anyone had norco 539 that are a bit slimmer than the traditional v / 3601's? The norco imprint rubs off extremely easily and I truly think they are fakes. Wondering if these are the ones that the late great prince came across - definitely not happy with what I've encountered. Any info / similar experience would be helpful.

That’s not exactly true. The way it decomposes has a lot to do with how well u r able to absorb it. The faster they metabolize the quicker u absorb. Often the length of time is diminished a little bit because of that. The ones that take longer to metabolize, absorb slower. I’m not talking about time-release meds like contins; contin means continuous. MS CONTIN / OXY CONTIN. They r a little more effective that way for treating pain, but some people need something that metabolizes sooner. That’s why IR or instant release meds r made. If I'm treating pain, I just want an even steady feeling of relief.
