Hello guys! I have PCOS and my doctor prescribed me primolut 5mg 1 pill daily for 5 days!
I have been taking them for three months. I missed 1 period before I started them due to a horrible side effect on birth control. As a result, my dr. Suggested taking primolut 5m. The first month I started them, I got my period on day 7. The second month I got it on the 6th or 7th day however, I was spotting very dark brown color (almost black) for 5days then I had heavy period for another 5 days. I think that’s because I missed one period one month earlier so my body was getting rid of the old blood. The 3rd month which is this month, I took them for 5 days, I had one brown spot right after I finished the course, and today is day 8 and still with no period!
Needless to say, I have all the pms symptoms and mood swings. Is what happened normal? Do I need more dosage?
Hope you all feel better! I know it sucks!

You are correct, the dark spotting is usually old blood that was not expelled during your previous cycle. The NIH states that it is usually nothing to worry about, unless it is very heavy, or contains clots larger than an egg. Since this is a hormonal medication, that contains a form of Progesterone, irregular cycles can be a normal side effect, along with PMS-like symptoms.

Has there been any change? Have you experienced a period, yet?

I am in perimenopause, since I am getting older and my body is going to be done with menstrual cycles, soon. I never know when I am going to have a cycle, or how it's going to be, a whole new adventure in life. LOL
