Nitrofurantoin Side Effect Question

I started Nitrofurantoin 100mg 4 times a day, yesterday morning (10th April). I took them 4 hours apart yesterday but have stretched them out a little more today to 6 hourly. Anyway, I am aware of the side effects of this medication, but I just wanted to know timescales. If I were to experience any adverse side effects, when are they likely to hit me? Also when am I likely to start feeling better? I feel worse today than I did when I was diagnosed (9th April). Thanks

I'm sorry, but there is really no way to say when they will hit, if they do. It can vary from person to person, so it's highly individualized.

However, as a genera rule with antibiotics, you shouldn't feel any worse after taking it for a full 24 hours and you should start to feel better after a full 3 days.

Side effects may include nausea, dizziness, non-allergc skin rash and diarrhea.
