About how long does it normally take before you start feeling the effects? I am using it to treat a urinary tract infection.

Hi Jane,

It's hard to say how long it can take for you to "feel" the effects of a drug, as every drug can effect each individual differently. If you're curious about what the proper dosage should be for a UTI and how long you should be taking it for, then the information below will be very helpful in that regard:

"The recommended nitrofurantoin dosage for treating UTIs in adults is 50 to 100 mg four times daily, continued for at least three days after the infection has cleared. For uncomplicated infections, the lower amount is usually recommended. For long-term treatment to prevent UTIs in adults, a dose of 50 or 100 mg once daily at bedtime is usually sufficient."

Hi, i went to the emergency room with very bad pain and it shows that i have a bladder infection. The doctor perscribed me Nitrofur-Macr and I have the worst nausea ever! is there anything i can do to stop this? i havent ate since friday, and when i attempt to eat i just throw up within 5 minutes... someone please help me the nausea hurts so bad and on top of this i have a baby i have to take care of on my own and i am in no type of shape to be feelin this bad and taking care of a mobile 8 month old!!
