Nitrofur Macr 100 Mg / Consumption

I have difficulty swallowing large pills or capsules. I removed the three small pills from the capsule, crushed them, and swallowed them with jelly. Is there any problem with this method?

This is a sustained release formulation of the medication and should not be opened and crushed in this manner, as it may result in too much of the medication being released at once.
