Nitro Mono

Last thursday I went to the doctor & they told me I have a UTI. They put me on Nitrofurantoin 2 pills a day for 7 days. I am on my 6th day and I still have to urinate a lot and there is just some discomfort not as bad as before. It doesn't hurt at all when I urinate like it did. I heard this is a good prescription to be on when having a UTI, but I feel like I should be almost 100% better by now. Will this go away?

Yes, the general rule is that you should start to see improvement after 3 days, so by day 6, it should be mostly cleared up.

There is a chance that it's just not the right antibiotic to treat your infection, or you may need a longer course of it.

Has it cleared up?

This medication may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea.
