Nimesulide And Paracetamol (Top voted first)

Nimesulide And Paracetamol a combination drug brand name Sumo...is this drug safe for prolong usage....as my mom (46 years old), she frequently will use this drug for headache...are there any side effects from using this, please give some tips or advice regarding this....

And also, give me any other generic/brand name drugs used for headache for prolong use, which is available in Bangalore, India....

I use Sumo tablet during first 3 days of my menstrual cycle as I get extremely bad cramps in stomach, plus backache and legs pain. On the 2nd day I have to take 2 in a day (morning & evening). This was prescribed to me by a gynaecologist. Also, I can't take cyclopam, ibuprofen, meftal spas, as they are not as effective as Sumo or cause more nausea. But of late I have been hearing that painkillers during periods are a bad idea, is it so? Is sumo too strong to take? What other options do I have if so? I need to add that i am 27 yrs old and weight between 39-40 kg.

How often is she taking it and how much?

It contains 100mgs of the Nimesulide and 500mgs of the Paracetamol, so with the Nimesulide, she shouldn't be taking more than 2 tablets, twice daily and for a maximum of 15 days in a row, according to the current medication safety guidelines.

Taking too much or using it for too long could result in overdose or organ damage.

As to what else is available in India, I am not sure. Has she consulted a doctor or pharmacist?

Ya....the physician prescribed this drug....and she doesn't take daily...whenever she gets headache, she takes this drug and also not more than 2 tablets of this combination drug which has, as u said 100 mg of Nimesulide and 500 mg of the Paracetamol, and also not in a row continuously, but maybe between 3 days or once in a week....is this okay....???

My son is suffering from typhoid. He is only 10years of age.the problem is that his fever goes as high as 104 degrees and only nimulid half tablet effects at that time. I would like to know if this is the safe drug to give and after how many hours can this be repeated.also my son is on sodium velporate since last two years.

there are no medicine for viral fever. If there are symptoms you can take medicine for them like fever and pain. In ayurveda there are medicines to improve your immune system which ultimately reduces the viral illness.

Suresh, if she's taking them that infrequently, she should be fine, however, there is no way to say how any medication is going to affect someone, because there are always risks involved.

If she finds the headaches getting worse, or she starts experiencing any type of abdominal pain or tenderness, then please make sure she knows to see her doctor immediately.

my wife, 62years is taking 1/2 tablets of nimesulide 100mg+500mg paracetamole since last one month for acute airithrites pain. She is releived of the pain but since last 3days she is feeling acute burning sensation in stomach and throat. She is also taking 5ml of fish oil. Is it a cause of concern because i am at present in Australia where otherwise medication is very costly. Please advise me.thanks

Instead of making use of the allopathic drugs, it is suggested that she be given belladona 200, a homeo pathic drug. She may take two drops on tongue when suffering headache bout. She would get instant relief without any side effects associated with the use of allopathic drugs like nemuslide etc.

3 doses at the gab of 6 hrs can be given.My son is 7 yrs and i give him the same med.

As given on a strip taking that tablet over 10 days is harmful to liver
so advice her not to take it
consult doctor
head ache may be of eyesight problems
it may be due to cold
so make sure the cause before u take any tablet. ...

I am 53 us old during the month of Mar 2014 attACKed by bull at the time it was not bothered but in the lost of April when I went for a long drive pain started inay right wrist as well as thumb. Pain can only be relieved, never changed. as long as you don't have a fever or problems with the digestive system or your liver, you should be save. severe pain is believed to be caused by one specific hormon, which can be counteracted by reducing consumation of meat, eggs and milk. Another way is taking a contraceptive pill. all chemicals are bad for the body, but that's no option, since severe menstrual pain (as yours) otherwise may lead to deep depressions
