Nifedipine And Water Retention

I have been taking Nifedipine for a month. I have increased water and swelling in feet, and a lot of pulled muscles. I think the pills are the cause. How do I wean myself off them? I take one every second day, until I see my Dr.

It would be best not to stop taking them, until you see your doctor, but the NIH does list that as being a possible side effect of this medication, so you might need to switch to a different medication.

When you be able to see your doctor?

The FDA lists other side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, and increased urination.

Are you on any other medications?

Yes, I have two of those but don't have the nausea. Can't see my dr til two weeks time. I was taking HCTZ before so I went back on this pill. Yes I thanked synthroid, been taking that for years, get blood work done every year and everything is good with the thyroid. Thanks for posting.
