Nifedipine Er 60 Mg Ter Manufacturers
UpdatedIs Nifedipine ER 60mg TER, a light pinkish tablet with KU261 on one side, and a small hole in the middle of the other side, the same manufacturer as Nifedipine ER 60 mg, a darker pink tablet with M 060 on one side, and a small hole in the middle of the other side?

Hi Ann,
To answer your question, both of the pills in question are one in the same drug. The only difference I noticed is that they are manufactured by different companies ("KU 261" is manufactured by Kremers Urban & "M 060" is manufactured by Mylan Pharmaceuticals Inc.)
Because of this, there may be a slight variation of inactive ingredients; but other than that you can be assured that they are the same drug and same dosage.
NOTE: Certain "inactive" ingredients that may or may not be present in each brand, are actually detrimental to how the drug is metabolized and used by your body. Because everyone is different, your body may respond favorably with one medication and not the other, due to how you feel or based on whatever side effects present themselves.
When you switch brand names or manufacturers, the drug itself doesn't change, but rather the binders or fillers that they put with it.
I hope this helps to answer your question!
I had been taking the Nifedipine 60mg tablet,( marked KU 261 on one side) since July,'12, and had discovered that the tablet showed up whole in my stool (twice in a 2 week timespan..that I saw).It could have been there every day, and gone unnoticed. When I renewed my prescription last week, I was given 11 more of that same tablet,(KDU 261),along with 19 of the similar tablet, but with M060 printed on the back..Yesterday I was at my Cardiologist, who said my blood pressure was very high..154/80..which could be caused from my body not assimilating the KDU 261 tablets..I also have other side effects, muscle weakness, shakiness, et al..So, I'm thinking, I could have not gotten any benefits from the KDu 261 tablet for the last 2 months! Is this possible?
I do understand that the drug is the same from both manufacturers, but since the actual tablet went through me without being digested, I was worried that the medication wasn't being released from the OUTER shell of the tablet, or was only partially released, which would possibly account for my blood pressure being so high. But thank you so much for your input! I will check with my doctor again.. Ann
