Next Cycle

I had a miscarriage in July and was given clearance to resume normal activities on Aug. 9th and was provided Lo loestrin FE sample for bc. My Dr. told me I could start taking them that day, even though it wasn't the 1st day of my period. My period then started during week 3 of the pills and lasted 2 weeks. When it was time to get a new pack my insurance wouldn't cover it so I had to wait one day before I could get a new sample pack from my Dr. I began the new pack the same day I got the sample from my Dr. I just completed week 3 and my cycle has not started. Should it be on now since it started during week 3 last month or see what happens during week 4 of the pills?

Hello, Tip! How are you doing? I am so very sorry about the miscarriage.

As to the contraceptives, yes, you most likely won't get your period until the 4th week of pills, which is the inactive week.

The first month you got it the third week due to starting it at an off time and your body also has to get used to the hormones that are in them, but as your body gets used to them, they will be what regulates your cycle, so you'll start getting your period the 4th week.

Have you talked to your doctor about your insurance not covering them?

They should be able to prescribe a cheaper alternative.
