Dear Sir, I have hyperacidity since 8 years,presently my age is 38years.For the last 8 years i have been taking pentodec,zentac,nexium ,Nexpro 20. I change the brand after every six months approx. Sir I take one of these tablets with half motilium m empty stomach in the morning since 8 years. Please advise if I can suffer any problem due to taking of these medicines for long time may be throughout my life.If I dont take this medicine I start suffering from heart burn feeling, passing of gas through mouth and uncomfortableness Awating your reply. Hi, Anand! How are you doing?

The concern really is why it continues to happen, when you stop taking a medication.

What types of foods do you eat? What do you drink regularly?

Do you eat a lot of spicy foods, or a lot of acidic foods? Do you drink a lot of coffee, fruit juices or alcohol?

There is usually some cause that's contributing to the excess acidity and you can greatly help yourself by eliminating it.

Hello Anand and other heartburn sufferers: I have been taking Nexium for about 3 months and have relief from most heartburn symptoms. I have read a lot about the possible side effects related to mineral and vitamin deficiencies related to living without digestive acid in the stomach. I take a multiple B vitamin, B12, a multiple mineral capsule and a 500 mg magnesium tablet. These have relieved my side effects such as restless leg syndrome, twitching eye lids and eyeballs and constipation. Also I take 3 Swanson multi enzyme tablets with each meal to help digest my food. You have been on these medications for way too long and no doubt are suffering side effects. You may have a stomach defect such as an eroded esophageal sphincter or Hiatal hernia. We can not be healthy without properly digesting our food. I hope this information helps.

Anand, one more thing. Don't take any acid blocker on an empty stomach as stated on the bottle. This medicine will burn your stomach, giving you a more sensitive stomach. Also, I empty the capsule into my mouth and wash it down with lots of water. If you follow these instructions you will get some relief right away.
