Nexium And Diarrhea

I just took my first Nexium pill before bed last night. This morning I have horrible diarrhea. I know diarrhea is a side effect. Does anyone else have experience with this? How long did it last?

Hello, Naomi! How are you?

Most side effects are transient and usually go away with time, as your body gets used to the medication, but it may take 3 or 4 weeks. I generally found it only to last a week, or so, for me, when I was taking it.

The FDA lists other typical side effects as possibly including nausea, stomach pain and flatulence.

Is there anything else I can help with?
