Newly Relocated To Garland Tx

I've just relocated to the area and I've already seen new family practitioner who's willing to give my referral to a doctor who will be able to write my prescription for hydrocodone #10 & Soma. Does anybody know/have info of Doctor (pain management) that will prescribe narcotics pain meds & can self pay? I'm unable to work due to back injury and my previous Doctor has diagnos me unable to work which means no insurance but have filed for SSI. I have been laid up since my move here and when I was able to see my new family practitioner she cried with me & saw all the pain I was in. I truly hope someone can help.

Honi, your PCP can write prescriptions for your pain meds, although most chose not to. It may be difficult to find a pain management dr that will give your Soma and an opiate. Pain Management is expensive and it usually cost $125-$200 a month for your office visits alone, that doesn't include routine drug panels. The first appointment with a pain management dr can be as much as $500-$600. If you're approved for SSI, most state medicaid programs have restrictions and limitations on the meds they will pay for chronic pain. It can also take a while to find a pain management dr that accepts Medicaid.
