Newbie To Chantix

I started taking Chantix on Dec. 02, 2007. So this is my second week on the Chantix. I haven't had real bad side effects. I have had an upset stomach and diarrhea, but like someone else said, I'm not sure it's related to the Chantix. I thought maybe I caught a flu bug.
Anyhow, I wanted to ask you all if it's normal that I still have the craving for wanting a cigarrette. I thought for sure that it would've subsided somewhat, but it's still there.
I noticed longer periods of time in between wanting one, but I still want one. :( If there is any advice anyone can offer, I would greatly appreciate it!

I started taking this pill 2 weeks ago, about one week into it I started feeling side effects of nausiated stomach, to the point of not wanting to eat as I was concered it wouldn't stay with me. I've also experienced gas problems. I am considering stopping the medication due to the extream upset stomach side effects.

Nausea occurs commonly in people taking varenicline. Other less common side effects include headache, difficulty sleeping, and abnormal dreams. Rare side effects reported by people taking varenicline compared to placebo include change in taste, vomiting, abdominal pain, flatulence, and constipation.[5]

Shawnee has posted very important information derived from FDA reports. Diarrhea is also a possible side effect, as well as dizziness, weight changes, and depression.

It can take about 5 to 6 weeks for these side effects to wear off, once your body gets used to the medication.

How are you doing, now? Has there been any change?

Esther, it doesn't work that fast for everyone, so that is also normal.
