New To Tramadol.

After many years of back and knee pain with no success on codeine and panadol for pain relief. I changed my dr and he has put me on tramadol 50 to 100 3 times daily, relief was amazing I feel a different person after one week.
I do see many people trying to get off the drug on here. But if it was working for you with pain relief why not just stay on it. I am 77 years old so don’t think addiction would be a worry. What do others think .?

The NIH does warn that it carries the risk of being habit forming, but not everyone is prone to developing an addiction to any given substance. The NIH also warns that this medication may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. (NDC code 0378-4152 for more information.)

thanks , im in to my second week and find i may have to increase my daily dose up to the 2 50g three times daily as the drug is not killing the pain entirely on the initial dose
i didnt want to increase the dose but itsall about gettng rid of the pain eh ?

the drug is working quite well for me now , 3 sometimes 4 a day with no real side effects , discussed addiction with my dr who felt at my age (77) it shouldnt be a problem , being pain free is
more important .and its working to a large degree so thats good, i find i can walk 30 mins daily and am losing weight so thats good .
