New To Taking Opana 20mg Extended

I was taking OxyContin for pain management for Cercvical Stenosis. I have had four neck surgeries in the past six years. The Opana doesn't seem to work as well as the OxyContin. Why?? The Dr said that this medication is twice as strong. It is not working. Now what do I do? I was thinking of doubling up on the Opana. But I am concerned about the side effects. My tolerance is so high after taking the oxy's for so many years I thought this was going to be my saving grace. Any suggestions?? Am I doing something wrong?

Your doctor is correct, the FDA and NIH do list it as being twice as strong.

However, not every medication works for every person that tries, so this just might not be the right one to help you.

The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

Have you ever tried Morphine or Dilaudid?
