Neuralgia Pain Caused By Stroke
UpdatedI recently had a stroke. My left hand and left face are numb & tingling. The doctor gave me Lyrica. So far no improvement. Is Lyrica for such use after a stroke?

Hello, Mike! How are you? I'm very sorry about your stroke.
Lyrica is an anticonvulsant that has also been shown to help with certain types of nerve pain and some mood disorders. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, mood swings and weight gain.
How long have you been on it and what is the dosage?
It does take about 4 to 5 weeks to reach its full level of efficacy in the body, so it may need more time, or you may need a higher dosage.
