Nervous Abot Dr Appt

So so so nervous I have finally got me a doctor appointment. I am currently going to a Methadone Maintance Clinic but not for addiction. I was in a severe domestic violence relationship for 11 years. I was shoved down stairs etc. my back kills me. I had no insurance so all I had available was a methadone clinic. I now have a great job with insurance so I can afford a doctor. I am just so scared he will think I am just med seeking . I am so nervous I am thinking about not going to the appointment. Any advice ??

Unfortunately, since you have been going to the Methadone clinic, there is a chance the doctor won't prescribe anything. It's listed in your records as an addiction treatment center, not pain management.

They may understand and be helpful, especially if you have proof it was for pain treatment, so going to the appointment won't hurt.

This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

Does anyone else have any advice or suggestions to add?
