The best way to go about it and not cause problems for yourself is to find a new doctor and make sure they get a full copy of your medical records, with all tests and prescribing information from your prior doctor.
If you contact them, or go in asking for a specific medication, especially a controlled substance, they will usually view it as drug seeking behavior. However, if they can see what has worked for you, as documented by other physicians, they will be more likely to prescribe accordingly.

Need a pain Dr in Cleveland Ohio not afraid to give pain meds surely had a surgery that everything that could go wrong did knee busted open footdrop rare infection staph fought for my life got home what makes leg go up snapped. Dr response S*** HAPPENS I SWEAR ON MY LIFE OTHER KNEE BONE ON BONE DO NOT WANT SURGERY EVER AGAIN IF I CHOOSE TO TAKE PAIN MEDS AFTER ALL THIS IT SHOULD BE MY CHOICE
