Need A Sleeping Pill Like Chloral Hydrate

I used to be prescribed Chloral Hydrate for sleep which helped, but I now get generic Lunesta, which doesn't really help, cuz I heard C.L.is discontinued. What's the closet to CL. Sleeping pill that I can get prescribed instead?

Hello, AzunCuties! How are you? I'm very sorry that the Lunesta isn't working for you.

You may want to speak to your doctor about trying Triazolam, it is a benzodiazepine that's most commonly used to treat insomnia.

It carries the risk of being habit forming and could cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache and irritability.

Does anyone else have any suggestions?

Another medication I just learned about and wanted to mention to you is Belsomra.

It was just approved for insomnia last year, so it's just now making it to market.

It contains the active ingredient Suvorexant and works different than other sleep inducing medications, so it helps people that sometimes don't respond to the traditional ones.

Its typical side effects, as listed by the FDA, may include nausea, dizziness, hallucinations, sleep walking and other sleep actions.

You may also want to see what your doctor thinks of you trying it. :-)
