Need A Doctor Who Will Take Over My Previous Prescriptions In Sacramento

I've been on methadone for 7 years and got off of it with suboxone for 5 years and it was the most miserable five years of my life so getting back on methadone at a methadone clinic is totally different than it used to be seven years ago so I was wondering if anybody knew a doctor in Sacramento who could prescribe methadone not that I abused it but my quality of life is a lot better on a stable dose of methadone can help me, the clinic are a joke and I will never get take homes because I am prescribed benzoz, so I need a doc who can take over my medical records and prescribe me the meds I have been on for 9 years. Anyone in Sacramento who gets methadone prescriptions from a doc please get back to me so I don't have to deal with this shady clinic anymore. {edited for privacy}. Thanks

I totally agree. I've been on benzos since 2001 even before they were manufactured by corporate entities. My pharmacist in Northern CA used to compound the buprenorphine gummy bears (not really that shape, just 2mm thick x 1" square orange jellies). Anyway not too many others have been on them long. Here's the rub: I went in for a hip replacement in 2013 and my GP switched me over to 4 mg. Dilaudid thinking that unless I did, the strong blocking mechanism in bupe would render me unreactive to standard opiates. It was hellish eventually getting back on the bupe because I went into what was called precipitated withdrawal (took the bupe too soon.)
I tell ya, I have never been so deliriously sick in the 5 decades (yes, 50 yrs). It made some of Burroughs passages sound like nursery rhymes or that passage in "Shantaram" describing withdrawal.
So if and when (hopefully never) I need another major surgery, I am going to have a doctor keep me on the bupe the whole time and override it with traditional opioids, e.g., Dilaudid HP, Opana, Oxycontin 80 or whatever he thinks is prudent. Then, go back on the buprenorphine.
Hello, David! How are you?
I'm sorry, but a clinic is your only option. Under current law, Methadone can only be given for addiction treatment at a clinic by those specially trained it is use.
I sincerely wish I had better news for you, many others have asked, as well, but this is the way things are right now.
This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
Is there anything else I can help with?
