Please help.. I have been on narcotics for chronic back pain for 19 years and just moved to VA. I need to find a good Dr. that is not afraid to continue with my meds. I take several different pain meds .Any help would be appreciated..

@"Comments Submitted"... Since you've written your question over three years ago, I'm not going to go into any of my history at this point. Where in VA are you located. I moved back here from MD in 2007 and had been seeing a PMDR in MD for over eight years. I did find one in VA last December, but had such a bad experience, by the grace of God I was able to get a PMDR close to home in the same office as my orthopedic surgeons. Just let me know if you've found one or not.

I live in winston salem nc so if u live anywhere near Danville I would love to find a primary Dr that will treat my pain management to. I have been driving 5 hours every month one way. Please help w any advice.

I live in Richmond, VA area. Need pain Mngt Doctor to write Oxycodone and Duragesic Patch 100. Cannot find one to take my case, rather complicated, Learned have Scoliosis age 57, have had 5 reconstruction spinal surgeries, now neck broken, not healing and not stable, Pls I need doctor, have ben n meds since 2007.

can you please tell me the name of any pain mgmt doctor in Maryland dc or northern vs. & where he is?. I have multiple sclerosis fibromyalgia asthma, sjogrens disease, I am only breathing at 59% and an excruciating pain every minute of every day. I have been to a few pain management doctors but it seems as though they will only write your prescription for 1 yr max and then that's it. I also need trigger point inj's. every month. it is so urgent. I'm lost and have no doctor thank you for your time truly

This post is old but if you can come to Maryland I have a very good doctor if you have proper documentation of your pain (MRIs, referrals, history).

I went to my first pain management Dr. yesterday. He refused to write me a script for narcotics because I had a previous conviction for possession. I am in terrible pain daily. I am 61 years old now and consider my past mistakes to be learning experiences. He was very rude. He also told me that my podiatrist had misdiagnosed me with Morton’s Neuroma, and he believed I actually have plantar fasciitis, which is not a condition that would qualify for narcotic medication. What should I do now?

Try Jerome Smith in Richmond, VA on Hioaks Rd. He’s a good doctor that prescribes pain meds for legitimate reasons. Of course bring all documentation you have including MRI’s and he should be able to help you.
