Had disc replacement with fusing neck area, now have lower back pain from deteriorating disc and arthritis with sciatica issues. Dr. assumes it's for drug use. Sick of the looks I get. I am a 47yr old wife and mother of 2, who works full-time sitting in front of a computer all day long. Why do I have to suffer for those that get them to sell. I am so disgusted -have insurance and can't use it -please find me a doctor who will believe me and is not afraid to write what I know my body works well with!

Isn't it disgusting these doctors won't help patients imagine having two knee surgeries one for a double meniscus tear then during physical therapy I twisted and torn the medial in addition to tearing my MCL. The surgeon the best in philadelphia refused to give any medication and my primary doctor said he would take over. He explained that even surgeons won't prescribe yet of course he is familiar with my situation he is a physician affiliated with the Top hospital

Wanted to see if you were able to find any doctors? My doc decided to stop prescribing 30s. With all these docs getting in trouble and ppl abusing the meds. I really need them for pain and never have abused or taken more than the recommended amount. I'm just someone who would like relief from this pain, so please let me know any of your findings. Thank you so much. Greatly appreciated.

I live in bucks county but work off of city line ave (trying to work with this pain is horriblee) but am willing to travel anywhere around philly or suburbs..

Well, what type of doctor are you seeing? Is it just a GP or a pain specialist?

And, how are you going about getting treatment?

These 2 questions both play a role in determining if you get the help you need.

The first is because under the new laws, general practitioners and surgeons will only be allowed to prescribe such medications for short-term use, such as for a few weeks after someone is recovering from surgery or has been in an accident.

Except for a few limited exceptions, everyone else will have to see a pain management specialist for long-term treatment.

And on the medication, if you are asking for a specific drug like this up front, then most doctors will see that as drug seeking behavior and will be reluctant to prescribe you anything that may help.

So, what you need to do there is just make sure that the new doctor gets a full copy of your most recent medical records, so they can see what has and hasn't worked for you, as documented by fellow physicians.
