I have been suffering from chronic pain for 7 years and have always been on and off pain meds from tylenol 3 to 90mg methadone at the worst of any ever taken. I decided to dose down & get off of methadone as I did not care for the "clinic" enviroment per say as I was using more for pain then for addicition. I found a dr that prescribed me the pain meds for breakthrough pain and the pill form of methadone 10mg was what I chose but now he is gone as he lost his license which sucks for me because NO ONE will give me anything, not even the methadone unless I go back to the stupid clinc and I so don't want that... DOES ANYONE KNOW OF A DR. that would prescribe anything or just something to get me through life with less pain? I am in the twin cities of Minnesota and I will drive if need be.
I saw my husband get hooked on tramadol in two weeks.. His doctor gave him a prescription because it isn't habit forming. I'm here to tell you it is.. My husband looked like he was loaded up on opiates. He kicked the tramadol and never touched them again.. This was way back when it wasn't a scheduled drug.. If you keep getting it over the internet, tell me, what happens when the pharmacy closes down?? It's wrong to give people information that isn't true.
Trying to find a Dr. in the Delaware/PA/NJ area to prescribe oxycodone liquid for severe migraine headaches, Been to many pain management Dr.'s with no help.
Linda, don't ask if a doctor prescribes a particular medication and at a particular dose. You will also need a copy of your medical records from your doctor that is retiring. What are the doctors offices saying when you call and ask for an appointment ?
I am having trouble finding a new pain Dr. In my area, my old Dr. Is retiring! I live in MICHIGAN ANY TIPS
You're going to be traveling every where. I'm 63 yrs old, not an addict like everyone thinks (Drs). I have been to three and my PCM gave me a referral, and a med Appt. in April. The pain clinic said that it was the PCM responsible for giving me my meds till my Appt. What happened will floor you. Was suppose to get meds on Friday last, and left the office for the weekend. Leaving me without my meds. It costs me over $2000 to fly to where we moved from to get the meds I have been on for 12 years and yet, being I left him, he saw me and covered me for 15 days. Thinking I would have a Appt. with someone else. I don't think it's fair, people who live in bad pain, in many places are being targeted and no one in the medical field will help us. Insurance gets you nothing. So they are pretty much killing people by running out of meds. Definitely a death in the person that goes cold turkey, and it was a Dr that got me started on them in the first place. We need to rally, bcuz Dr's are refusing to help us. There will be a legal suit when someone dies bcuz they are denied meds. Opiates is not the only med for pain. They don't even help you with that. And that's unconstrained to the max. Dr's took an oath, and obviously don't remember. They are fine giving for surgery, but that's it. Not right at all. Still looking.
Cornfed, Tramadol is a Schedule IV in Nebraska. See pages 14 & 15 at the link below:

Found a new doc for my husband. It's not a pain clinic. But one single doctor, a young guy, by himself. He specializes in back pain and upped my husbands pain meds which the previous pain clinic would not. They (pain clinic) said the recommendations tied their hands. blah blah blah.
Tramadol here in Nebraska is a narcotic now. And I know a 19yr old that literly goes through withdrawls from it. I'm at a methadone clinic on 120mgs. But he says tramadol gives him a speedy better high than the oxies or anything higher. He always asking for tramadol instedt of something "BETTER" unlike me..lol.
Did you figure it out. Im from texas and have bad back pain and cant find an insurance holder here
BLKNOWSALLlol, you can look it up on the DEA website. That is my source of information for Tramadol.

In the spirit of disclosure and accuracy I have posted a reference regarding the national restrictions. If you possess documentation to the contrary, kindly post so others can be enlightened. Certain regional (state by state) have the option to restrict oral and refill privileges. Perhaps your state is one that chooses to do so BUT THEY ARE NOT LEGALY Prohibited from doing so. Kindly enthrall us with your acumen if your knowledge base suspect cedes federal law. For those interested in viewing my source it can be viewed at the following.

Zedster2k17, a written prescription is required for Tramadol. There is a limit of 5 refills per prescription.
Joei
Although your description of tramadol is correct It is classified as a schedule lV Narcotic,Under the controled dangerous substance act, according to the DEA. At one time this unique analgesic was not a federally controled drug.A written prescription is not required but MANY claim they can only be filled with a valid hard copy, NOT TRUE that's not to say it can be filled without limitations.
My doctor will prescribe pain meds but even with a prescription Walgreens is now tightening up and even refusing to give me Soma ( Generic )
What angers me is the main office automatically called in my refill and my Doctor approved it but the pharmacists said I had to wait four more days. Why did they call it in and then make me feel like a jerk. Now Soma is a bad drug too. They say it is scheduled. I am not a new customer and they know my issues. My old prescription was filled on December 28. I must wait till |January 31. I am prescribed 90 a month.
Did you find a doctor in Phx? My husband needs to supplement for his chronic pain. The pain clinics are a complete joke! They even overrode his prescription that he was supposed to fill after surgery! Any referral would help.
Tramadol is a analgesic. Works perfect for my left eye pain. Not for Lupus or siatica lower back and down the leg pain. Tramadol has been added to the class of meds that need pain mngmt scripts.
Terbear, Tramadol is a Schedule IV in Florida. It is Not a Schedule II like Morphine, Hydrocodone, Oxycodone, etc.
Can i also have the name of your doctor please? I suffer from chronic pain that's not in my back so most pain managements won't help me.
Karl, it is recommended, not mandated. Many primary doctors are referring patients, though.
