Need Doctor. West Subs Of Chicago That Will Prescribe Pain Meds (Page 5)
UpdatedI live in near Aurora, IL. west suburbs of Chicago PLEASE SOMEONE HAS TO KNOW A DR. AROUND AURORA, IL OR W/IN 10 MILES OR SO THAT WILL PRESCRIBE THE PAIN MEDS I NEED. I'VE TRIED AT LEAST 7 OR 8 DIFFERENT MEDS. THE NORCO10'S OR EVEN STRONGER (FEWER PER DAY) WORK PERFECT, NO SIDE EFFECTS. I'VE TRIED ALL THE OTHER NON NARCOTIC AND THEY DO NOT WORK OR I FEEL LIKE A WACK FROM DRUGS LIKE LYRICA. I don't want to be treated like some drug addict...JUST LOOK AT THE MRI FROM LAST WEEK.
There's a lot of doctors at dupage medical can u help further with a name? Please and thank you
I have been reading what you have had to say about meds and pain. I have been to so many docs trying to get relief for my pain but have been told over and over they do no prescribe narcotics. I am not a kid looking for a high, I am 64 years old, have gone to all the non narcotic meds. Neurontin, Lyrica, Tylenol ibu bla bla bla. None work. The only combo that gives me relief is Norco 10/325 and tramadol. When I was prescribed this combo I only took half of what I was allowed but now I get nothing that helps and to add insult to injury my PCP wants me to see a psychiatrist. My pain is true pain, not in my head. So you know I have severe fibro which I am labeled disabled and severe neuropathy and constant RLS. Any suggestions? I am so tired of hurting, my quality of life truly sucks. I don't understand why I have to be in pain just because Chicago has so many addicts. It is so not fair. Please help.
You will need to go to a Pain Center/Clinic with pain specialists who are anesthesiologists. I was discharged from one years ago, to get a small amount of daily Norco from my PCP. Three years ago it all changed. PCPs won't prescribe narcotics, opiates for pain. Back to the Pain Clinic with U/A's every 6 months. I am 65, post two spine surgeries in 10 yrs, fused from T12 to S1. No more daily Norco. The Butrans patch 24/7 is only opiate he will prescribe. Rush, Northwestern have Pain Clinics, maybe Loyola. Reality, addicts ruined it.
I use to take vicodin 10 mg for pain in my spine due to a condition found on a MRI in 1995 unfortunately that Dr. moved from southern Illinois to Texas and I went through a divorce and lost my blue cross insurance and only have a medical card and nobody that takes the state medical card would write the vicodin so I stayed in pain as only one small town Dr wrote half the mg and only twice a day better than nothing but he stopped taking the medical card I don't know who in southern Illinois will take the card and give me vicodin as so bad in this area to get any Doctor to write to a new patient and even worse I tore my rotator cuff full tear and another two areas w half tear and in horrible pain and the comp dr will only write mobic or tramadol I can't believe it I'm in so much pain and going to need surgery and He will only give me vicodin after surgery for a short time really I can't believe this I took it years and I am not allergic to it if I had health insurance through my employer which I can't afford the 3500 deductible so what's the point getting it anyway if I had regular not medical card insurance I would have no issues it's all the clinics and Dr controlled centers that tell a Dr what to write and that's all I can get on a medical card and now I am on comp need surgery and looking for a second opinion so I can get a Dr/surgeon that actually cares about the patient and not what comp tells them they can do or in this case can't to save money like my physical therapy discontinued to save money until after surgery or dr excuse is no point in it right now really ya there is my shoulder is freezing up and I'm in more pain this surgery clinic is horrible I hear that Paducah has a great orthopedic surgeon but again idk if they are as I call it comp friendly and not for the patient what ever conp says this place and all the dr there and pa do the patient is not treated like a patient on private insurance anyone know of a md at least that could help me with therapy and pain relief as I can get a referall from that md for a surgeon that is for my rights not comps I just don't feel comfortable when the place stops therapy till after surgery as no point ya go said my shoulder is freezing up and at least stretching good muscles to help and continue with the heat And ultrasound and conp just runs the show makes me sick if anyone knows of a doctor in southern Illinois area or a great shoulder surgeon as I have no primary md at time so need good one actually to see instead of urgent care or walk in clinic anyone please send any dr name and info town whatever so I can get a dr that will take my medical card and help me with pain in shoulder and as I've had since I said 1995 spine back problem and took vicodin I really am in pain and can't find a dr that will look at my report I can prove I have taken in past and need now I just need a Dr to go to and I don't know any that take the card and will write pain med any help with name is appreciated.
I am looking for a new pain management dr. Due to mine relocating I have arthritis in my back an shoulder, i am in some pain and haven't had my norco or flexerall for couple months and now I have blue cross blue shield I am looking for new dr.,i live in twin lakes, Wisconsin and I do have a vehicle for transportation but I don't know where to go ,i was at Advanced Pain in Kenosha for about 5 yrs..Thank you for any help
Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee or Univ. of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison to be seen at a Pain Specialty Clinic. Sorry you have to travel, but pain treatment has been taken out of the hands of general docs. You must see anesthesiologist, who specializes in chronic pain, and they are to be found at teaching hospitals, not your local country hospital.
Dupage medical is the only place my insurance allows. My p c p won't give pain Med's!!' I'd love to see your guy at 127th in Plainfield. Am legit with all records. Would you pm or post his name PLEASE!! Thanks.
I have the same problem pain meds really help me and I've been to pain management places that were shut down...Now I'm in pain and I don't sleep,it is just terrible..I would feel better if I could get 4 Percocet 10mg a day and I use to take 6 tab of oxycodone 30mg its..I really want a doctor that's not afraid to precribe pain meds..
Well Ray, it must be nice!!! Just put generic info up about Howell I you're taken care of, then don't give any other helpful info!! In this insane anti pain
Ray, please advise who your doc is. I too go to DMG and find most all of the docs not willing to write scripts. Even for a legit pain patient with multiple issues. Even their pain clinic docs are doing shots only!! They're scared of the bulls*** gov't whose blaming the illicit drug deaths on the pharmaceutical and pain industry. Please help.
Baby smoke, I do have all necessary docs. Could you please help me out with a doctor? I'm miserable and tired of suffering.
Re: Babysmoke (# 61)
Please share with me the info of the doc. My doc recently closed shop and disappeared. I'm on my last few days of meds and haven't been able to find someone to help.

Thank you
Re: Babysmoke (# 61)
Who is the doctor? Mine left and I need a new dr. I was taking HCG injections, percocet 5mg, tramadol and nabumetone and now the new one will only do steroid injections. He also said it will only reduce the inflammation but could cause my severe fibro to act up causing more pain. In addition, it costs several thousand dollars, so he makes more and doesn't have to deal with writing any Rx. He said he does not write Rx for any pain meds. Then why are you a pain specialist??? Ugg...
Re: HertinTim (# 2)

Re: Lefty (# 90)
Are you referring to the dupage medical group? If so, what Doctor do you recommend?
Re: Lefty (# 87)
What is the name of your doctor?
Re: BEAR (# 25)
Is this doctor still around? Mine is retiring and he isn’t too helpful! I have seen him for over 15 yrs and am on OxyContin 20mg 4x day and oxycodone 10mg 4 times a day for breakthrough pain. Medication of any kind rips through my system which is why I take 4 LA a day. They last about 6 hrs in my system. I have records etc no abuse!
