Nausea

my daughter, 17, has had nausea for three weeks most likely due to the overuse of painkillers for migraine headaches and NSAIDs. Sucralsate was given to her and now her nausea tripled. Don't know how to undo what has been done. Any suggestions to lessen the nausea either from this or other options. She's on PPI but doesn't seem to be working. It's the nausea that bothering her more than stomach pain.

Has she tried any alternative antacids, such as Pepcid, which contains the active ingredient Famotidine?

In some people, the PPIs can worsen nausea, stomach pain and other symptoms, so they may not be the best choice for them to use.

I had a similar problem, until I finally got lucky and an ER doctor determined that the PPI that had been prescribed for me was contributing the problem. He suggested Pepcid, after checking with the hospital pharmacist and my symptoms started to ease within a few days.

She should check with her doctor, though, to make sure what is safe for her to take, if she is also on NSAIDs and migraine medications.

Zofran is the VERY BEST nausea and upset stomach prescription medication on the current U.S. market hands down. I absolutely very highly recommend to to anyone from 3 years old and up. The great aspect about this nausea medication is that it does not make you nearly as drowsy as any of the other kinds nausea prescription meds. Most people that have taken Zofran never experienced and drowsiness or dizziness
