Mylan Ms Contin (Page 2) (Top voted first)
UpdatedMy pharmacy was out of my regular brand ms contin, I had to wait a few days (they suddenly didn't have the medication I got there for over 10 years. seems strange to me.
A day or two after I started taking these, my leg pain came back, I have burning pain all the time, with my regular brand ( I think they are by Purdue) small darker blue pills, I never had pain even if I overworked my leg.
These new ones are larger and made by mylan, they seem to work ok in the morning, but the pain gets worse when I usually do things in the afternoon.
The others stay with me all day, I start to get pain late in the evening a few hours before my next pill is due.
I have learned to live with the others, got things I needed to be done, with these I can see me becoming a couch potato.
Has anyone experienced anything like this, tomorrow I'm going to the pharmacy,( rite aid) , and give them back they are useless.
I have been on ms contin for six years. I just got the new mylan ms contin 30 mg a few days ago. I hate them.! They don't work very well at pain relief like the old small 30mg ms contins. I will make sure I never get these Mylan ones again.!!
I have the same problem. I just called Walgreens where I always have my prescription filled. I had the small pill and then 2 months ago they changed to the larger Mylan pill. The smaller pill was a different manufacturer. I told her the Mylan, larger pill must have a filler in it or something because the time release did seem right. It's not working for the pain like the smaller pill from the other manufacturer. She did say I was the first to complain.
I just got the new mylan ms contins I think they work great I take 1hundred mg every 12 hours with these I took both at the same time I was feeling good from 11am till 3am I think they are way better than all the other brands I tried
I have been on MS-Contin 15mg pills for a couple months now for various chronic pain conditions (degenerative disc disease, osteoarthritis of the spine, the bladder disease interstitial cystitis, and fibromyalgia). The first 2 months I had the small blue ones from Mallinckrodt and I thought they were awful - they barely touched the pain. This month, I ended up with the larger blue Mylan ones and it's a big difference - for me, they work BETTER. I think it just depends on individual body chemistry. To be honest, oral morphine isn't particularly effective no matter how you take it, as its oral bioavailability is only about 30% (for oxycodone, oral BA is about 95%), but I'm sure various people respond to the different formulations differently….
