My Experience And Opinion On Lyrica
UpdatedHi everyone,
Lyrica is still new out there, and it seems that most ppl have more questions than answers. Well I can tell you from my experience, that lyrica takes about 1-2 months to kick in and work. Got to have some paitence and be careful when taking it. Yes your primary or pain management doctors will tell you to take so many a day depending on the dose and what he can gather up on the info your telling him. See he only prescribes you on the info you telling him. So from my experience im warning you to keep with precautions. I only take so many per day, with depending on how I'm feeling. For example, my pain management doctor will tell me to take 3 100mg caps of lyrica per day, but 1 of them just fits me fine. I took 3 of them my 2nd day and OD on them and it sent me to the hospital. So PLEASE when I say take them carefully I mean it. PLEASE! PLS! PLS, ONLY TAKE WHAT YOUR BODY CAN HANDLE. I take 1 100mg cap once a day. I've been on lyrica for 3 yrs now. Just because your not feeling any relief or side affects right away doesn't mean it's not working and doesn't mean to take more. If ur new on taking lyrica I strongly recommend on taking a low dose and slowly moving on to the recommended dose that u feel comfortable and the relief that you need. Take this medication to start off as the same way as you would need to ween off of it slowly so you don't get extremely bad death relating results. I'm no doctor, im just a 30yrs male struggling with walking every day do to a race car accident ant got caught on fire with nitrous methane. Where the fuel burns from the inside out. I was in ICU for 3 months in a coma, couldn't walk for 3 yrs. Just my opinion and experience on taking lyrica. Good luck to everyone. Take care and be safe. Have a great day! :)

Hello, Chris! How are you? I'm so sorry about your accident. Thank you for sharing this information and tips for others, it is greatly appreciated. I'm also very glad that Lyrica is working so well for you.
For anyone interested, the FDA classifies this medication as an anticonvulsant that is also proven to help with certain types of nerve pain and some mood disorders. Its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, mood swings and weight gain.
It is also very important to know that you should never stop taking it abruptly, it should alway be tapered, due to the risk of seizures that can occur with sudden withdrawal.
Are there any questions or concerns?
This is very important info regarding the dosage. Take only the dosage that works for you. It is ok to experiment a little with lyrica and find the right dosage for each individuals needs. My experience is the lower the dose you can take and still get the results you need the better with this drug. The larger the dose the more problems you have with side effects and withdrawals. I take 200mg a day now but was started at 600mg a day which caused me all kinds of problems. I also take days off frequently which helps with side effect symptoms.
I took Lyrica by mistake and want to make sure that I'll be ok. Does anyone have any thoughts or feedback to share from experience that may help me?
