My Subutex Prescription Was Different!

I just filled a 3 day supply of my Subutex & when I got home I realized it was a new pill I've never seen before. I did some research & they're from Sun Pharmaceutical Industries. They're white, round & say 460. I'm being told by a friend that the Roxane brand (54's) will no longer be available. Does anybody know anything about this? I'm not a fan of change! LoL.

Well, the Sun PHARMA 460 tabs are just as others have said....burning sensation, upset stomach, weak. I'm actually expecting a callback from a CVS Regional Head Rep tomorrow because of these. I had seen on here where others had placed calls to Corporate, so I did as well. I was very professional with him and after our discussion he told Me he would have to make some calls & get back with me. I told him this was a bad decision for CVS going with a company I have found to have all kinds of quality control problems....This medication is very important to Us and has helped me change alot in my life over the last year. I can't understand why they would choose a knock off like this and not expect a backlash? I have never had problems with the West Ward brand (Roxane) and feel like this has half the effect along with the other issues. It's been over a week and something has to be done! Everyone needs to make the call and let them know were not a bunch of test rats....All these other brands are knock offs as far as I'm concerned. This is a Mess! I'm going up the ladder and further if I have to. It's not right, and they could careless at this point I feel. I have actually thought about going to the Paper on this and telling them the whole story so then there will be a proper story on these different generics. This is so important to all of us! Us who follow the rules have a good argument and myself have been on a 3 month trust visit with my doctor! That means alot to me...I demand some respect from these people, not brushed to the side as some dirty addict!
I called Roxane WestWard today in Ohio and found out that there was a 2 DAY DELAY in their product and several companies ordered from other sources including CVS (for Goodness sake). I have been on the 54 411's for over a year and have always got them filled at good Ol CVS....There was one other time where I was given a month of the MYLAN brand and those were great! Well, back to the Roxane brand: the lady at West Ward told me that they were readily available, but I went on a Hunt Today before work and every Pharmacy in the Hagerstown MD area had no Roxane WestWard period. Somebody screwed up Royaly and ordered these INDIA SUN PHARMA ones! It's all about money and which ones they can get a better deal on....Martin's, Walgreen's, CVS, Rite Aid, and Carl's Drug Store acted like they had no time for me over the phone! The bottom line is that there out there but all these places will have to exhaust there current stock before getting them again. Walgreen's across from my Doctors was kind enough to give me a 3 day trial of there Orange Actavis 8mg tabs before filling the entire month supply. I was not impressed, and feel the Roxane WestWard is Superior. This whole thing started for Me back on the 20th of July when CVS had nothing! They hadn't had Buph for over 2 weeks they said! I was forced into going to Rite Aid without knowing the Huge differences in these generics! Rite Aid gave me a brand called HI TECH and claimed they never had any issues (but said he doesn't get that one much)...Well, those things had me in a mess inside of 4 days taking them!
I was having withdrawal insomnia, sweating, and that sucks when you work like I do at a Fast Pace demanding job! Rite Aid would not take them back or try to order another brand....I had to go to my doctor and tell him everything. He has me on a 3 month visit schedule because I have passed all drug panels and worked hard, plus he read some of the complaints about hi tech Subs on the internet. Everything was screwed and still is! Walgreen's is going to transfer back to CVS for these SUN PHARMA brand tabs. The insurance is playing games as usual! I hate the insurance companies and how they try to dictate everything with your meds! I have a legitimate issue here and they wanna play the game. Even if you pay outa pocket they still have to stick there big noses in everything! I know I was long winded, but I needed to get this off my chest....I appreciate all the folks on here who are upfront and honest about there experiences. I tried to get some of these places to order the 54 411's and still got a bunch of excuses. I'm 43 and have a lot going for me, and this medication has changed my life. I have stayed Straight Edge to my program and feel like these Pharmacies treat you like a dirty addict 50% of the time when there are issues.
I'm so glad I only got a 3 day supply...I'm sorry you got stuck with those awful things! I luckily found out my local Walmart has the Roxane/West-Ward(54's) again. But the pharmacist told me my doc had to fax a care plan along with my script to be on file per the DEA. It's odd, my doc said he's never heard of it but he faxed it & I was all set. Idk if all pharmacy's with them will need this or just Walmart... Its odd. My boyfriend said its like their tracking people who are on them or something.
Same thing here. I just got them last night. I have had a very sour stomach since, headaches, nausea and the damn burning of the tongue! I will try very hard to find the old ones in the future, as I'm sure the pharmacy will not switch them. (Though I will be trying) . From what I have read online it's a lower cost higher profit decision on cvs' part. I am thoroughly disgusted with these.
I received these new 460 yesterday and do not like them at all. I took them and am already sick to my stomach. What can I do?I have a headache and cant take this sickness. They burned while dissolving too. Has anyone gotten these? Cant even find an image on internet! What's anyone else's experience with these? Why are pharmacies changing these now?
Unfortunately I have to take it or I'll end up VERY sick. I've been tapering slowly but these new ones give this burning sensation under my tongue. I'm hoping another pharmacy has the brand I'm use too! Ugh
Yes, Sun Pharmaceuticals lists this tablet as containing 8mgs of Buprenorphine, which is a generic for Subutex. Unfortunately, I do not have any information on the ones manufactured by Roxane.
Have you started taking it, yet?
The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth.
