Muscle Pain And Weakness While Taking Zanidip (Top voted first)

I have been taking Zanidip for 6 months and have aching muscles in my legs and muscle weakness. I can no longer go to the gym and am in intense pain after walking. I stopped for 10 days but the pain has not gone away. How long doe it take for the pain to subside?

I have just learnt that the swollen feet and ankles, severe cramping and muscle pains in my legs and now much lowered blood pressure are the side effects of taking Zanidip. I also found it very painful to go up stairs, and to go walking. I was on 20mg per day, my GP now says to reduce it to 10mg. But can I stop this completely? I am also on Noten for the hypertension.

Zanidip contains the active ingredient Lercanidipine, which is a calcium channel blocker, these are usually used to treat high blood pressure and cardiac conditions.
