I just looked up the imprint ABG 60, and the orange pill is in fact Morphine sulfate CR 60 mg. It is manufactured by Watson Pharmaceuticals.
One possible difference other than the color, could be that the orange pill is noted to be "controlled release (CR)" instead of what you mentioned the pink one to be- "extended release (ER)". I'm not sure however what difference it would make to have a controlled release v.s. an extended release, as I always believed that they were pretty much one in the same. If you are concerned about the difference, it may be a good idea to ask your doctor or local pharmacist.
You can be rest assured that they are the same drug and same dosage. Hope this helps!
thank you very much...my investigation showed that a new manufacturer is making this pill..rhodes, and that their dye is a bit different..but they are the same strength, as you said...thanks again
I have been taking 60 mg. ER morphine sulfate for the past 2 years. The manufacturer is Endo and their medication does not make me nauseous, drowsy or dizzy. I can drive, etc. I found out this week that it is no longer being supplied to pharmacies. I contaced Endo and after an hour of being passed around was finally told it was on backorder, but they would not say it is no longer being produced. I contacted 9 pharmacies and was told they can no longer get it. What is happening with this medication? Other morphines, especially Watson, makes me physically ill. In the event I have to get another morphine, what is the best to obtain? I think the fillers in the generics are the problem.
