Ms Contin 60mg Er

I have been taking oxycodone the 15mg and 30mg for a while. Then the pharmacy I use and other surrounding pharmacies did not have the medication. So my dr then switched me to the ms contin 60mg er. I took my first dose at 11:30 that morning. After taking that dose I got a euphoria feeling along with sweating and my body started to feel heavy. I was in the bed for the rest of the day. I got a headache as well. So as u can c that medication was not for me. Although I did not feel any pain (besides headache) it caused more problems than it cured. I was also prescribed the 15mg ir morphine sulfate for breakthru pain but that pill wasn't even needed. The 60mg er of the ms contin did not wear off until 12 hrs later. So to me ms contin is a good pain relieving drug as long as u don't have any of the side effects I did. I was so ecstatic to hear my pharmacy was carrying the 15mg oxycodone again! As long as my pharmacy continues to carry it that is going to b my drug of choice. It relieves my pain, I have no side effects AT ALL! The only problem I hate is the lifetime of the drug. So now I am going to try the oxycontin as soon as my insurance approves it. It cost $650 for 60 pills of the 60mg oxycontin! So I will gladly wait for my insurance company :-)

If you suddenly jump to 60mgs of the Oxycontin, you may experience similar side effects, for awhile. That would actually be a stronger dose than what you were taking of the Morphine, since Oxycodone is 1 and a half times stronger, so an equivalent dose to the 60mg Morphine would only actually be 45mgs of the Oxycodone.

It may work as well for you as the lower dosages and not cause any side effects, but you should be aware that the possibility is there, just in case.
