Moving To Minneapolis Mn Area And Need A Doctor (Top voted first)

I am moving from FL to MN in a couple of weeks and looking for a doctor who will continue my medications for back pain, high blood pressure, stomach issues.

Depending on what you take for back pain, you may need to see a pain management specialist now for that, since GPs can no longer prescribe long-term use narcotics.

Can anyone suggest a good PCP in the area?

Just to let you know what has happened with finding a doctor. After spending hours reviewing web site that had reviews of doctors. Of course all the doctors who I thought could help were not taking new patients or had multi month wait lists. I finally went to the phone book a called a family practice clinic near my home at got a appointment. When I saw the doctor I had the past year of my medical records, my last MRI that was 5 years old and my medication bottles. After a brief chat and exam she stated that she had no problems keeping me on my medications since they worked well for me. Which proves one thing at least in MN that any MD can prescribe pain medications long term for chronic pain patients. A lot of doctors are lying to there patients because they do not want to take the risk. However that is also a lie because almost every state has a prescription monitor program which makes it almost impossible for someone to doctor shop after one or two try's. Patients need to remind doctors of this and use these programs to the patients advantage instead of the other way around. It is helpful for someone who is moving or changing doctors to get this information and know what is being recorded to the state. The internet can help and tell you what you need to do to get your records.
