Do I need to worry about overdose? ## Hello, Sunnydaze59! How are you? Did you experience any adverse effects? If it is the dose you normally, I doubt you'd experience much of a problem, unless you completely chewed up the tablet. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Getting more of it, at once, than you should may result in more severe side effects being experienced and overdose is possible, if you're not opiate tolerant. When unsure, it is always best to contact poison control, or your doctor. If you're able to bite ...
I want to know if anyone makes an er 40 mg tablet ## Hello, Gary! How are you? No, there is no 40mg ER tablet available in the U.S. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?
I have a purple little round pill with a M in a square on one side and on the other side it has the # 30. When I looked it up it showed morphine sulfate Sr. My questions are #1. Are these considered extended release? And #2. If so, how often should I be taking them? 1 every 12 hours or 1 every 24 hours. ## Hello, Star! How are you? Yes, the SR stands for sustained release, so it is a time release formulation. They are usually dosed every 12 hours, but you should follow your doctor's prescribing instructions, if they are different. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Thank you very...
I found this pill in my house I just recently moved into. It's about half an inch in length and a little less than half an inch in width. It's white, flat, oval shaped, has the number 60 on one side and the letter N on the other side. I can't find it on the web anywhere? ## Morphine sulphate, 60mg. It's a new manufacturer, but same pill. It's in another thread. ## Hi Lylah, Just for verification I wanted to share that link to the other discussion thread post #1 may have been referring to: Discuss/oval-white-pill-n-60-291452_s2.htm Zydus is apparently the new manufacturer. You can see on their product page a detailed image and description of this particular tablet at: zydususa.com/product-details/?id=229&dosage=60mg Hopefully this helps confirm things for other re...
Hello Everyone, I have posted in other forums, not knowing where to post my story, to get answers and suggestions. I have been on morphine, over the last 10 years, at least. My primary, who has closed her practice, suddenly at the end of 2012, intensified my Morphine up to 300 mgs a day. But, when she disappeared, I saw an Internist, another lady doctor, who was just as caring, listens well and takes her time with her patients. This doctor, who was my doctor for a year, suddenly disappeared too, with no one telling me, until the day I called, my appointment day. She was concerned that the Morphine, was no longer working for my severe, day & night time pain. I was diagnosed with MCTD, (Mixed Connective Tissue Disease, which includes Lupus, RA, Scleroderma and other associated illness...
How To Help Someone Who Took 20mgs Of Morphine ## If you feel this person may have taken more than they needed or overdosed, I would strongly recommend getting some activated charcoal at your local health food store. According to Dr. Al Sears, MD. he wrote an article that spoke of: "Most poisons in your body are attracted to charcoal; even prescription drugs. Since your body reacts to most prescription drugs as toxins (that's why there are so many side effects to meds), activated charcoal taken orally will often adsorb prescription medications and over-the-counter drugs, too. . The activated charcoal will fight the poisoning from a medication overdose. That's why every emergency room carries it. It is also used in many different detox programs to help absorb the chronic accu...
Has anyone experienced an onset of pain due to administration of intravenous morphiene? This has happened to me both times I was given morphiene in the ER . Slowly my body starts aching from abnomen and moves throughout my entire body. Sensation is like a whole body menstrual cramp. Both times all I got for a response was,"That's weird," from the medical staff. It generally passes after 90 seconds and then the meds take effect but don't wear off for 12 hours rather than the four hours they had suggested. Anyone else ever experience this? Is it dangerous? I have to have major surgery soon and am afraid of the reaction. ## Hello, Angie! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem you've had. I'd suggest just talking to them prior to the surgery and see if they can...
Started morphine pills for back pain 30 mg I took it at 9 p.m. It didn't kick in until 12:15...3 hours for reaction? As well, really strong as far as that feeling of "tightness" throughout neck arms etc. Instead of pain relief & anility to sleep, I feel the need to stay awake and monitor breathing. In the hospital this RX would work much faster and stiffness was less ability to slep was fine. Is it the form (pill v.s. IV)??? Thanks side effect feels worse than pain go figure any suggestions on pain med for pm that does not do this? ## Hello, Lola! How are you? Morphine can cause joint pain and stiffness in some people that take it, so the form it's given in may not be relevant, you may have just hit the point where this side effect has kicked in for you. The problem ...
I have zero energy, but after I take my morphine subscriptions(er15mg 2 times a day, ir15mg usually 1 to 3 times daily) an hour later I get enough energy to move. I'm interested in what body process causes this and why. I have taken this 10 or more years. Thanks ## Hello, Valerie! How are you? I'm sorry, but I don't really have an explanation for you. It really just depends on your body and how it reacts to the medication. Not everyone experiences energy from it, when I was on Morphine years ago for pain management, it always did the opposite to me and I couldn't stay awake. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. it felt like i was going to die ## You just crushed it up and somehow stuffed it in some syringe with a 30G needle? Right?! I bet monkey's were flying out your ass, too. ## so you just crushed it up, mixed it with a lil water, then put it in the needle and injected it? ## Your an idiot. ## You are totally full of it! I'm a Plastic Surgery Nurse and work with patients before, during, and after surgery and it is chemically impossible to just crush up morphine SULFATE and inject it. And as the person before me just stated... I;m sure you had no problems with the chunky particles floating around. Idiot... People do not listen to this *bouche* or you may die! ## It is possible to inject the purple ABG morphine pills (the ones that gel up.) {edited for safety} I usually get more than ...
Here is a list of my medicines. I don't understand why I tested positive for benzodiazepines: morphine sulfate er, oxycodone, fluticasone propionate, proair, hydrochlorothiazide, levothyroxine, metformin, sumatriptan succinate, omeprazole, ipratopium/albuterol, methylprednisolone, tussin DM, topiramate, citalopram, ibuprofen.
UpdatedI was recently released by pain clinic and need to find another doctor soon. Are there any doctors in Northeast Ga that will see me and prescribe pain meds for chronic pain or do I have to go to pain clinic?? Any suggestions for a doctor that will prescribe meds that actually work without constant drama? ## Hello, Tonya! How are you? Due to the new directives that were set forth by the DEA last year, most private practice doctors will no longer prescribe pain medications, except in special circumstances, such as for someone that is suffering intractable pain from a possibly fatal illness, such as stage 4 cancer. Thus, you'll have to stick with a pain management specialist. Why did they release you? That might have an effect on being able to get another to accept you as a patient. Do...

UpdatedIs my morphine oral solution still safe to take it has been refrigerated since April 2013 ?thanks ## Hello, John! How are you? Most likely not, liquid medications tend to go bad, after the expire and could actually make you ill, if you try to take it. It would be best to dispose of it. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?
I am currently taking 15mg ER morphine 3x, and 400mcg sublingual spray 3x, and I am going to wean myself off these dangerous medications. I know my pain will increase greatly without pain meds, but I am just tired of my pain dr treating me like a child. Anyone who has this disorder knows what it can do. Just finding a pain dr that will prescribe something that works is so hard. I plan to take it slow, but any advice is greatly welcome. Thanks. ## I left out the 400mcg spray is fentyal! ## Hello, Mike! How are you? Yes, you'll need to taper off very slowly, especially from the Fentanyl, because it's a very potent opiate, over 80 times stronger than the Morphine. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause s...
small light orange pill P,2 and 30mg morphine equivalent? ## Hello, Annie! How are you? You only need 7.5mgs of Dilaudid to equal each 30mgs of Morphine. The tablet you mentioned with the P2 marking is manufactured by Purdue Pharma and they list it as being a 2mg Dilaudid tablet. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?
I just spoke with a pharmacist gave him a list of the meds I have been taking : morphine 30mg, diovan, hydrochlorothizide, valsartan, hydrocodone 10/325, bisopropolol, sudogest, pseudoephederine, aleve, pain reliever pm. He says none of these will cause false positive urine test results for methamphetamine although I keep testing positive and I have not used any of that stuff! Can you tell me why this is happening cause my po is going to throw me in jail. I really need help with this please ## Since you took sudafed, that could have caused it. Sudafed is used as an ingredient in methamphetamine. That's why you have to give them your ID just to buy it. Request a more detailed test, and it will show that an otc drug caused it to pop up as positive.
Please look at the first ? does 10 mgs last long in the body.. ## Hello, Peck! How are you? Morphine has a relatively short half-life, so its elimination time usually only takes anywhere from 7.5 to 42 hours. However, this does not refer to its detectability on certain medical evaluations. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?
If I stop taking them today how long till they are out of my system? I have been taking about 10 per day. ## Hello, Crys! How are you? Wow, that's quite a lot to be taking daily. Morphine has a fairly short half-life, so it should only take about 7.5 to 42 hours, but this does not refer to its being detectable in some medical evaluations. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Hi I'm in serious pain with my broken foot just happened over weekend , anyway my close friend gave me the morphine 15 ABG pills im reading about here , but I am afraid to take one because of the word "morphine" I think . Will anything happen ? I have to take something strong for my foot because the Vicodin hosoital gave me hasn't seemed to help at all . Should I be scared ? My friend told me to chew it , can anything bad happen ? ## It will not help. Tell ur Dr u need vicaprofen or oxycodone. I broke my wrist 3 days ago. Ps. Don't chew meds bad idea. ## Hi Lucky, First things first, I would never encourage anyone to take meds from someone else's prescription, because if you do have a bad reaction (god forbid) then you don't have a prescribing doctor to turn ...
