A day and now they decided to put me on 30 milligrams time release twice a day . is this still the same thing or different and how ## Hello, Blackbetty! How are you? The time released can give some people better pain control, since it is slowly released over the 12 hour dosing period. That is the only difference. And no, you can't cut or break them, because that could cause you to get too much of the medication, at once. They must be swallowed whole. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ##...
My doctor switched me from morphine 40 mg ER to 10/325 norco and he said I could take one tonight around the time I would take my morphine. My question is, has the morphine wore off enough to take the norco without causing problems? ## Hello, David! How are you? It is always best to follow your doctor's advice and it is normal to just switch them out, as they instructed. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and it may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?
The doctors don't want to give me the acedamentaphon, I keep telling them besides the neck and back problems I have pancreas and diverticulitus problems and the act. helps with the diaraherra causes by those two problems. What do I have to do to make them understand. Not to mention the doctor raises his voice and slams his fist on the counter when I tell him I cannot take morphine and he gives me oxycodon, another part of morphine. Three other doctors have told me it is. He swears it is not. ## Oxycodone is not a part of Morphine, it is a completely different opiate narcotic. Thus, it is distantly related to it, but it is not Morphine. Learn more Oxycodone details here. Learn more Morphine details here. And they don't want to give you Acetaminophen, due to the diverticulitis and...
I need to find a doctor in East TN that will write me my Opana ER 40's back or at least give me Morphine 100's back and will take Tn care Blue Cross/Blue Shield medicaid or cash. I have lots of back problems among other chronic pain issues and have extensive records to prove it all! If anyone knows of one around here or anywhere close to here i'll travel too, i'd really appreciate the info. I also need a psychiatrist that takes medicaid as well. I'm NOT a pill head! I honestly got pinned between two cars and it broke my back, herniated 4 discs in my lower spine and two in my neck, fractured both hips, dislocated my right knee and tore a ligament in my right ankle, so I've been in a LOT of pain these last two months since my pain doctor closed his office! If anyon...
UpdatedI have taken morphine 25 mg. I am on a suboxone program and I have to dose tomorrow. My dose is 16 milligrams. I take my suboxone orally but I took the morphine intravenously - are there any drug interactions? ## It depends, was the morphine a one time thing or have you been taking it more? You usually want to wait until you are feeling active withdrawal symptoms from the morphine BEFORE you take the suboxone or you can have precipitated withdrawal symptoms which are FAR Worse.
I live n north Atlanta, ga. And suddenly no pharmacy (been to 6 so far) will fill my scripts. And each has a different reason than the next, yet none accusing me of any wrong doing. Been on severe pain control since .2005. No new meds at all... Why? ## What reasons have you been given? There have been a lot of problems on the east coast recently. A lot of issues are due to the fact that the limits on how much of these medications any pharmacy can order in each month are now being strictly enforced. This is causing many pharmacies to run out and they can't order in a new supply until the following month. ## I have had the exact same problem and I don't know what to do. I am almost out and still trying to find. I live in Loganville. Have you had any luck finding? ## Suddenly stopp...
My insurance change thus my pm doc changed. He switched me from 100mg er morphine 3xday with 4 10/325 percocet daily and 2 350mg soma to up to 3 30mg ir morphine 4x daily only for pain. No breakthrough med and no muscle relaxer. Am I going to stiffer major wd?or is this captains with what I was taking? Been on for 5 years to build up to this amount, two failed back surgeries, constant pain and spasms, with some foot surgeries and other pain issues. Any advise will help I'm terrified of the wd my body is dependant plus need to be able to function, move around and take care of "life" as it happens ## How are you doing? That is definitely a lowering of your dosage, so you may experience some withdrawal symptoms, which the FDA lists as possibly including nausea, dizziness, heada...
I had a Dr that was was suspended , SO STUPID!!! Now I am looking for a DR that will write for what I was on, Morphine 39 mgs 4x day and methadone 60 mg daily. He was going to up my meds at the next visit, but there was no next visit, I am desperate to find a Dr. I will go to NH if I have to, DOES ANYONE know of a clinc or Dr. in my area that is compassionate and gives aa crap about the patient in pain? My back is a mess, sciatica, frac.discs no cartiledge, spondilosis etc thanks ## Hello, Joanne! How are you? Sorry about the situation that you're in, that's terrible. Due to the new regulations that were put in place this year, you'll need to stick with a doctor in your home state, as well as using a pharmacy there. And unfortunately, there is no listing of doctors according...
A new pain pill exstinded relief that starts with and a not avinsa ## Hi Eddie, What about the name Astramorph? It too is another brand of Morphine like Avinza. However, the difference is that Astramorph is an inj./epidural. And while I'm not sure how new it is or how long the relief lasts, inj's. are typically a lot stronger than oral pain meds due to increased bioavailability. Unfortunately I haven't heard of any other pain meds that start with an 'A', but if anything I hope this at least helps narrow down your search.
i took 1 low dosage morphine is that enuff to show up in a screen? im prescribed 30mg oxys but am out so neone knw i neverr took a morphine b4 n im 4ft 11 in 118 lbs???? ## As a narcotic, Morphine can be detectable in a standard urine test for approximately 4 to 5 days, after last dosing, so yes, it can be detected if the test is within that time frame. How did you end up running out early? ## Will a small prescription morphine pill show up In a preemployment urine test? And if so for how long? It was a small white pill with a M on it and I was told it may have only been 4mg but could be wrong only lasted a couple hours. ## Don't sound like a morphine at all. Small white with an M? They do not make a 4 mg. I don't think? 15 mg's and 30 mg's usually have a number. One...
for 3 years my dr. was prescribing me three 60mg morphine sulphate er and four 30mg ms ir daily. when it became impossible to get MS in Florida, he switched me to Fentanyl patch 12MCG/HR every 3 days and 7.5mg-200 hydrocordone , 1 every 8 hours. the pain was unbearable and I felt terrible. cold sweats, shakes, could'nt think straight. when I asked him to increase dosage, he increased the patch to 25 MCG, but said there was more MS in the 7.5-200 hydrocodone than the 30mg tabs of ms. do you agree? Also, how does the patch equate to the Three 60MG MS er I was taking daily? Prior to this Dr.,after I moved 200 miles away,, my orthopedic surgeon was prescribing me Oxycontin, or oxycodone. When I called him 3 years ago and told him The new pain management Dr. switched to MS, he said its l...
I was prescribed 60mg Morphine ER twice a day with 10mg norco up to 6 tablets a day for 2.5 years. I always took it as prescribed never asked for early prescriptions. A few months ago my rheumatologist sent me to a pain dr for management because he said I am too young (35) to be on this many narcotics. The new dr is super nice and you can tell he wants to medicate me to manage my pain but has changed my medication around all over the place to doses that are too low or medications that don't work or cause side effects. I was managed on the morphine and norco and told him I didn't need him to change anything but to just give me a new rx. Because of the DEA and FDA he wanted to see if there were medications that would help that aren't as controlled by the DEA. Because of the ag...
UpdatedOne tab in am, 2 tabs in pm for slow release, slight in improvement over hydrocodone10/325, but it takes time, am I right? Also, I'm very?? New at all this. ... Computer..meds, but VERY much enjoy and love info, thanks from a old MARINE. ## Hello, Sarge! How are you? Welcome to the Internet, where keyboard warriors abound to slay you with caps lock, and almost everyone believes everything they read on Facebook, without fact checking it. :D That said… Yes, it will take some time, if you stopped the Hydrocodone cold turkey to switch to Morphine, there are two issues that will cause your body to have to adjust. One is, of course, the change from one medication to another, which can cause some minor withdrawal effects, as reported by the NIH, and they can include rebound pain. The o...
can u inject morphine 15mg blue pills? ## No, it is not safe to inject any medication that has not been specifically designed for that type of use. Tablets contain fillers and not all of them are meant to be broken down by the human body, this is especially true of time released medications. Normally, these leftover products are just expelled in your waste. However, if you inject them, you are putting this fillers into your body in a manner that it is unable to process them out and this creates the risk of blockages, which could lead to stroke or embolism. Are there any other questions or comments? ## Whether or not you can inject Morphine is the real question I presume; as pills are in pill form for a good reason...to take them orally. I would imagine there would be a liquid IV form av...
Just switched to mor. Sul 15mg ir tab from hydro codons 10/325 , every four hrs will it be stronger? ## Hello, Sarge! How are you? Yes, they are equivalent on a 1 to 1 ration, so 15mgs of Morphine would be the same as taking 15mgs of Hydrocodone, according to the opiate conversion charts provided by Global. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?
My dr. has been giving me 30 mg morphine immediate release for several years. I just had my prescription filled and noticed that my new ones say SR.I'm sure it was a mistake and my dr. and I never had any discussion about it. The pharmacy is closed now but I need my medicine. So since I am used to the 30 mg IR already, why would it hurt to crush or cut open the same amount of mg in SR? I can't wait until the pharmacy opens again tomorrow afternoon. ## Theoretically your reasoning makes good sense, and in light of that I don't see why it would hurt to do so. However, for the sake of taking it as prescribed, only your doctor can legally tell you what you should or should not do to achieve a certain level of pain relief. While I personally wouldn't cut any time-released med...
I have been taking liquid morphine every four hours since december 2015 for severe sciatia. I had a spinal operation 4 weeks ago, which was a complete success. However now I cannot sleep without taking zimovane. Everything else is functioning well. Morphine is still present in my body. I drink water constantly. Is there any other solution to rid the morphine? ## I'm sorry, I'm not sure if I understand you. Are you still taking the Morphine, or not? If not, there is no way it would still be present in your body and having an active effect weeks after stopping it. It usually only takes a short period of time for it to be eliminated, as reported by the NIH. The FDA lists the typical side effects of Zimovane as possibly including dizziness, drowsiness, hallucinations and next day ha...
I'm taking 15mg of slow release morphine 2x a day and feel no relief what so ever. It's been 5 days now. Should I request higher doses? ## Hello, Sarge! How are you? I am sorry that you're in pain. And yes, it may be best to speak to your doctor about exploring other options, such as raising your dosage, or trying a different medication. Just be careful not to demand any particular option, since that could cause them to assume you're drug seeking. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## To verwon, thanks for the reply!

UpdatedMorphine liquid...after one year after opening. Its still the same color as when it was recieved. Is it still good? My back pain has come back and this medication is what was given before. ## Hello, Jessica! How are you? I am sorry that you're in pain. What is the expiration date on the bottle? Liquid medications tend to expire faster than most other forms and may actually turn sour, so they could make you sick, if you take one when expired. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation and dry mouth. It would also be a good idea to have your back checked out to be sure of what's causing the pain.
