Morphine With Hydrocodone

Help. I need to know if I took too much medicine this morning on pain pills. I usually take one 10 mg 325 hydrocodone plus one morphine 15 er every morning around 8:30. This morning was my time to change my weekly, well fill my weekly meds in my daily a.M. And p.M. And I was changing the way I take my meds as I also take about 5 different meds at around noon each day. So I was combining the morphine and hydrocodone and the other meds from at 11 in my dailies to take each morning at 8:30. I put my morphine and my adderall in the morning regimen and then with my other meds and when my afternoon pills came along I took those, and about a half an hour after I started feeling weird. So I checked my pill container to see if I mixed up one of my nighttime pills by accident, but that's not what happened. What I did was put an extra morphine and hydrocodone in my morning regimen, which I usually take at 11. So that made me take an extra morphine and hydrocodone. I'm wanting to know if that is safe. So now I have one morphine at 8:30 (15mg extended release) + one hydrocodone-apap (10/325) at 8:30 and then both of them again at about 12:30. I've got a call out to my pain management clinic but I haven't received a callback and it's been about 30 minutes. So I'm wondering if anyone knows on here if that is a safe amount to take or if I should go to the hospital?

Hi David thanks for your response. I am doing fine I was feeling a little funny after about a half an hour but then I actually was free from Pain most of my day which was better than normal however this is not what I'm prescribed and I did it by accident I won't be doing it again I did hear back from my doctor's office and they told me to just that that wasn't an amount really to be too worried about but individuals can vary so if I was feeling any real hard effects that I should go to the ER or take my locks and then call 911 if I thought I was going into anything. Sorry to hear about the dosing mistake. I see you posted this message earlier today and am curious to know how you might be feeling after the double dose?

I know if it were me in this position, I would probably be calling poison control as well as a local pharmacy for advice, especially if the prescribing doctor hasn't returned any calls. To post on a message board with a time-sensitive emergency generally isn't the best approach because you never know when you're going to get feedback. Nevertheless, I hope this information can be of benefit to you.

If it were me, I would also base my decision to go to the hospital depending on how I'm feeling. But I don't think anyone other than yourself can truly make that call for you.

An activated charcoal supplement may help rid your body of excess toxins/pharmaceuticals in the near term. They even use it at hospitals for overdoses - although in what quantities, I have no idea.

If you feel like you can manage on your own, just know that hydrocodone has a relatively short elimination half-life (3.8 hours), whereas at least half of the hydrocodone you took is likely already being excreted from your body since the timing of your post. It may just take a few days to level out from this experience, but I suspect that you'll be fine in the long haul.
