What are the prescribing instructions?
The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and it may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth.
He should not exceed the amount directed by his doctor, but in some case, when it is a possibly fatal condition, it may be prescribed more freely to try to give the patient some comfort and quality of life.
Is he on any other medications?
