Morphine 30mg Cr

I take this tab for pain management, I was sick with flu and only took one tablet at 6pm the night before my pain management doctors appt at 10am the next day. They are saying that my urine test did NOT show morphine in my system and are planning to drop me for violation of policy. Because this med is time released could that be the reason the med did not show up in urinalysis? thank you

Did you tell them that you had been sick and not taking the medication as prescribed?

It is generally always wise to be honest with your doctors and while they do have their policies, many of them do understand if you were ill and had trouble holding stuff down or couldn't take your medications.

Now, in reality, they could have detected some in your urine, even if it is time released, but it would have been a very low amount, which I am sure is what caused the problem.

In reality, any pain management patient that wanted to could sell off almost all of their narcotic medications and just keep one or two that they take right before they have an appointment for testing to see if they are taking them.

Thus, rather than just a test that shows their presence in any amount, most pain management clinics that have these strict policies use certain tests that will not detect very low amounts, because they know how much should be needed for a positive test, according to your dosage and if you were taking it regularly.

So, they do your urinalysis, looking for the proper amounts of the Morphine metabolites that should show up for someone who is regularly taking 30mgs of the controlled release. Even if they do detect some, they will consider it a policy violation, because to them it seems you are not taking them as prescribed and will give it a negative test result.
