Morphine 15 Mg Vs Oxycodone 30mg

Does anyone know if 2 15mg morphine tabs would be equal to 1 30mg oxycodone. Both are immediate release. I have been on the 30's but due to my upcoming surgery my Dr. feels that I need stronger pain med's. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Actually, the Oxycodone is one and a half time stronger than Morphine, so to equal 30mgs of the Oxycodone would require 45mgs of the Morphine.

Lord please let those that abuse their pills or medications be taken off their meds. I'm just pissed off because I've got a back & spine so bad if you heard each issue you would wonder why I don't just go blow myself up & fighting the pain is a full time job, I pay 15$ to fill a prescription for 150 of my roxi's & I hear they're going for 1$ per milligram, that's insane. S*** if this dumb ass game of war on drugs doesn't stop which it mostly has as now we have war on terror & it's just overall very sad times for America & trust me I hate to watch anyone suffer from pain but at my doctors I can see the pill seekers, they stick out like sore thumbs, I've come to realize that pain is a mind game & a reward system. I say both because when you feel pain your body makes natural endorphins ( which very much resemble that of opiate structures ) & we also get pain to know something is wrong for example, pain usually brings on inflammation & also if your in true suffering pain in the modern medical world we live in, no one should feel pain, but to go home, & abuse it that's just where it's an overkill & one needs help, eventually all on that level will crash. I'm grateful for all the most amazing doctors that have worked together to make my life worth living one more day, day by day. I'm never completely pain free & until that day does happen for me, I will educate myself on my illness & injuries & not always rely on doctors, I'm a believer in herbs & vitamins along w/ a healthy diet ( yes I know it's hard w/ little to NO money but always money for that next fix ) my good brother uncle Sammy making sure these streets are filled w/ all it takes to be a junkie, a killer & take that chance for that one last shot or hit or whatever you kids do these days, turning antihistamines into dynamite, well no sir not here & I ask you all that don't have any records of legitimate pain to stop making those that need the help look & left feeling bad, the need to end this war on drugs, IT'S NOT WORKING AND NEVER WILL, I MEAN OUR GOVERNMENT SHIPS THE S*** IN, they have no plans to stop unless people stop buying the poison...

I am normally on 4 10mg oxycodon a day. But recently I've been struggling with really bad stomach pains. I was given a week of 2mg hydromorphone tablets (2mg.) And they didn't help at all. I'm wondering if a 10mg morphine sulfate er tablet would help since I'm out of meds for a few days.

I hear you. It gives people with real pain a hard time to get relief. I have Addison disease and a multitude f chronic pain problems and they are leary to give u anything to help because of drug seekers. Been a nurse a long time and seen it all.

But oxycodone is stronger. I was on fentanyl 100mcg patch. They always sweat off. If it is chronic. See if u can get a pump installed. I have a baclofen pump because of very bad nerve disorder.

Absolutely Not...different Metabolites pruduced from each Drug in your System. Drug Panels from Pain Management Doctors look for Metabolites...therefore you will get caught substituting one for the other...and these Doctors' Licenses are on the line....they Will Not tolerate this, and they will put it in your Chart, and tell you they won't Treat you anymore. Nor will any other Doctor when they see your Chart!

Saw your post and wanted to tell you about O.I.H. Opioid Induced Hyperalgesia. Google it and discuss with your Dr. I had recent knee surgery and needed many times the post op meds because OIH can cause you to feel 10 times the pain. Because it's hard to get increasing scripts, it took 5 weeks to get adequate pain relief. Hope this doesn't effect you but discuss with Dr.

It depends on what kind of drug panel your Dr. gives. They're completely different. Oxycodone is a synthetic opiate and morphine is not. They come up differently at my PM Dr.

Your absolutely correct, I can drive 10 miles and buy all the illegal oxy I want but I go to my pharmacist instead, as it's the right thing to do when your Dr trusts you to take meds as prescribed. Now I have to go to 9 or 10 pharmacies for getting my script for 150 oxy 10mg filled because the pharmacies are not getting their supply in. The war on drugs has made life so much harder on the person in pain, as we are the ones suffering. Pharmacists don't help with their GOD syndrome, some will not fill until the 30th day and then tell you they are out and need to order it. But they won't let you ask them to order ahead of time. I'm sick of driving 20 miles or so to 7-10 pharmacies on average to find my meds. And if that is not bad enough, some pharmacist give you a hard time when they see you've been on oxy for years but it's your first time here. It almost takes a call from the dr to get them to fill it as they think you're trying to pull the wool over their eyes and don't believe other pharmacies don't have it. I wish Drs could dispense it. Thanks for your words and I agree 100 percent with you.

I just found that morphine is longer lasting, but for me, my oxycodone helps with the pain a lot more and gives me some pep, as well, as opposed to morphine making me a little sleepy
