Morning Hangover
UpdatedAfter trying Sonata for chronic insomnia, my doctor put me on Lunesta. At first, I took 1 mg which just made me sleepier and grumpier. So she moved me up to 3 mg. This works well but I wake up so sleepy that by mid afternoon I have to take a nap. By evening I feel great, am wide awake, and full of energy. I am a night owl so I stay up until 11:30 or midnight. I have taken the pill earlier but I stay up for awhile. Should I try to go to bed when I take the pill or wait until later to take it around the time I go to bed? I need hangover help.

Next day hangover-like effects are a normal side effect of this medication, according to FDA reports. Other side effects may include nausea, dizziness, and odd taste.
And yes, it should be taken within half an hour of when you are going to bed.
How are you doing, now? Has there been any change?
