Mixup With Lo Loestrin Fe / Loestrin 24 Fe

I've been on Lo Loestrin Fe for 6 months.Recently, when I refilled my prescription, they gave me Loestrin 24 Fe instead. I had to go out of state and couldn't get to a pharmacy, so I've been on Loestrin 24 Fe for a week now. I finally got a pack of the correct pills, but I'm worried about the consequences of switching types mid-pack. I don't want to make it less effective.

Unless your doctor or pharmacist has specified some reason why it cannot be done, most birth control tablets can just be smoothly switched from one to the other, without any decrease in effectiveness.

However, any hormonal fluctuations are a different story and could result in spotting, cramping, irritability and etc. for a few days.

You should definitely check and make sure with your doctor or pharmacist, but as I said, in most cases it can be done.
