Mirtazapine Sleeping And Side Effects
UpdatedHi all. Great reading your posts. I am on Mirtazapine for the second time. Happy new year by The way. Firstly my psychiatrist put me on 30mg. It knocked me out every time. I had vivid abnormal dreams, lucid which I love. Nevertheless I had the munchies all the time coupled with lethargy, fuzziness and mild hallucinations. I kept going but was getting chubbier by the week. So i decided to ween myself of them feeling that my depression and residual psychosis from previous street drug abuse had resided or gone altogether. 3 weeks off them I was back in a dark gloomy and aggressive place my mood was irrational my thoughts racing always looking for someway to escape myself. 2 months later I went back on them and at first I felt like they were not working so the doc uped them from 15 to 30mg. Soon after I could feel them getting back to work and although i do not feel sedated or have uncontrollable cravings for sugar i do feel better and more in control. Without these i was def. going backwards. I guess what I'm trying to say is they work for me and i don't think of them as evil or bad. Anyhow would love some questions or even some feedback of other experiences. Keep the faith.

Hello, Toto! How are you?
I've never taken this medication, so I can't chime in from that perspective, but I can explain the abnormal lucid dreaming that you experienced.
Most medications in this class can cause ROL, as reported by the FDA, which stands for Rem Onset Latency, this causes you to take longer to enter the REM phase of sleep and to be in it for a shorter period of time than usual. Typically, things improve after several weeks of taking the medication, after your body gets used to it, but it can be problematic for some people during the early phases of taking it. Many people also find that they don't sleep as long, altogether, or wake up easier during the first weeks.
Can anyone else that's taken this medication chime in?
Yes, vivid dreams and increased N iety higher the dose. Not having much success here
My doctor put me on depakote along with Mirtzapine and was wondering if this is a good combination or am I over doing it on medication?
Re: Verwon (# 1)
I had really bad fatigue taking this, but I don’t remember vivid dreams. I was told lower doses cause more sedation that higher doses, which seems odd. I couldn’t tolerate the extreme sedation and I didn’t think it helped my mood at all so I only took it for a month.
