Minivelle Transdermal Patches Combined With Prometrium

I have been prescribed Minivelle 0.05mg/24 hr transdermal patches along with Prometrium 100 mg. Has anyone else taken this combination and found relief from other menopausal symptoms such as hot flashes, trouble sleeping, outbursts of tears or rage? Also, will it cause weight gain or loss? Any other symptoms I should be aware of?

Minivelle is an estrogen supplement, while Prometrium is a a progesterone supplement, as classified by the FDA, they are used to help with hormonal imbalances and to alleviate the symptoms of perimenopause and menopause.

Typical side effects are listed as possibly including nausea, headache, irritability, skin irritation and mood swings.

A woman typical produces both hormones each month, during her normal cycle and they taper off, once you enter menopause, so they can help relieve the symptoms.

Has anyone used both of these?

I sure hope they alleviate some of the more bothersome issues. I've gone the antidepressant route with Prozac 20mg and Wellbutrin Sr 100mg over the past few years with short term relief. I have been blessed with my mother's defunct ovaries lol with early onset menopause at 43. Yay!

Yes, I'm currently on Prozac myself, due to perimenopause symptoms. I'm the same age as you. :-)

So far, It's been working well for me, with just occasional dosage adjustments.
